Survivor
Every entrant starts with the same number of lives (3 by default; organisers can choose 1–10). Players are paired round by round:
- Each round, the active players are paired and play their matches.
- Each match loss costs one life. A player at zero lives is eliminated.
- The organiser generates the next round only after the previous one is finished, pairing only players who still have lives.
- The last player standing wins. Others are placed by when they were eliminated — the later you go out, the higher you finish.
Chip tournaments
A Chip tournament works like Survivor, except each entrant can start with a different number of chips (lives) — typically more chips for lower-rated players as a handicap. The organiser sets each entrant's chips when the field is seeded; they are visible on the bracket. Losing a match costs one chip; zero chips means elimination.
Pairing and byes
If an odd number of players remain, one player receives a bye for the round. A bye costs no life and has no effect on ratings.
