Accessibility statement
Our commitment
Pool is for everyone, and so is RingGame. We aim for the RingGame website and app to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Accessibility is part of how we design and review every release, not a one-off project.
What we do
- Semantic page structure with landmarks, a logical heading order and a skip to main content link on every page.
- Keyboard access with a consistent, high-visibility focus indicator. Dialogs keep focus inside while open, close with Escape and return focus to where you were.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images and icons; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
- Form fields with visible, programmatically associated labels; errors are announced and linked to the field where possible.
- A dark theme whose colour pairs are checked automatically against WCAG AA contrast ratios. Text can be resized up to 200%; wide data tables scroll inside their own labelled region on small screens.
- Controls at least 24×24px, and larger touch targets on touch screens.
- Reduced motion: animations and smooth scrolling are switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Live updates (scores, chat, calculators) announced politely to assistive technology where appropriate.
- No flashing content and no autoplaying audio.
Known limitations
We're still improving. Areas we know need work:
- Tournament brackets are drawn visually; each match also has a text description (for example "Semifinal match 1: A vs B, A won 7–4"), and standings show the same information as a table. The visual layout itself can still be hard to follow.
- Charts have a text summary and an accompanying data table for screen readers; some internal admin charts do not yet.
- Shake-to-report relies on device motion; the same report form is always available from Help.
- Membership card scanning uses the camera; if you can't use it, ask venue staff or contact support for help.
- User-generated content (avatars, venue photos, chat) may lack descriptions.
Compatibility
RingGame is designed for current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on desktop and mobile, and is built to work with screen readers such as VoiceOver (iOS/macOS) and NVDA (Windows). It may not work well in older browsers.
Report a barrier
If something on RingGame doesn't work for you, please tell us. Email play@ringgame.com with "Accessibility" in the subject, or open a support ticket in the app. Include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 business days and, where we can't fix something quickly, to provide the information or service another way.
How we assess this
This statement is based on self-assessment. We test with a keyboard and automated checks (including contrast checks on our colour tokens); screen-reader testing is in progress. It was last reviewed in October 2026 and will be updated as the Service changes.
